About McDonagh

McDonagh was established in 1898 by Thomas William McDonagh, who began making tables and chairs in Richhill, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. Since then the second and third generation of the McDonagh family have been working in the business carrying on the tradition of quality with integrity. We like to think we have built up a reputation for satisfying our customers in an honest way with good old fashioned service and value.

Although the business was started in Richhill, and indeed some of the family still live in the original premises, the business has been based in Portadown since the 1920’s.

Over the years the company has accumulated skills in every aspect of furniture manufacture from cabinet-making and manufacturing to upholstery and polishing expertise.

The business now concentrates on specialist restoration services and bespoke manufacture and is run by Terry and Ross McDonagh, grandsons of the founder.
